Cabrera, Crane, Harrington Commit To Byron Nelson Championship

IRVING, TX, – Angel Cabrera, Ben Crane and Padraig Harrington have added their names to the strong field competing at the 2013 HP Byron Nelson Championship, tournament officials announced today.

Cabrera, the 2007 U.S. Open and 2009 Masters Champion, almost repeated at Augusta earlier this year, losing in a playoff to Adam Scott at the Masters Tournament. He has made seven cuts in nine events on TOUR this season.

Crane, a Westlake Texas resident, is coming off a 2012 season that saw him finish in the top 25 eight times including four top-10 finishes and a second place finish at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. His best finish in 2013 has been T4 at the Shell Houston Open.

Harrington will make his second appearance at the Nelson after finishing T15 in 2012. Padraig has had a storied career winning three majors, with two British Open Championships in 2007, 2008 and a PGA Championship in 2008 to his name. His best finish this season was T10 at the Valero Texas Open.

Cabrera (Argentine) and Harrington (Ireland) add to the growing list of high-profile international players attending the Nelson, including: Jason Day (Australia), Trevor Immelman (South Africa), Martin Kaymer (Germany), Marc Leishman (Australia), Louis Oosthuizen (South Africa), Rory Sabbatini (South Africa), Charl Schwartzel (South Africa), Marcel Siem (Germany), Vijay Singh (Fiji) and amateur Guan Tianlang (China).

The field will not be final until Friday, May 10 at 5 p.m. The current commitment list can be found here. The 2013 HP Byron Nelson Championship will be played May 13-19 at the TPC Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas in Irving.
