Charles Schwab Challenge Executive Women’s Day Partners with Fort Worth Colonial Charities
Every year during the Charles Schwab Challenge PGA TOUR event at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, unique storylines emerge which illustrate that the tournament is much more than championship golf.
A shining example is the Charles Schwab Challenge Executive Women’s Day, one of the premier events held during tournament week since 2013.
To be held on Tuesday, May 23 at Colonial Country Club, this exclusive event is a forum that brings together hundreds of local women business leaders and innovators for corporate dialogue, networking, idea sharing and development.
Keynote Speaker – Annika Sorenstam
Over the years, a hallmark of Executive Women’s Day (EWD) are the high-profile keynote speakers featured, and this year’s headline presenter exceeds all expectations.
LPGA Hall-Of-Fame legend and one of the greatest female golfers of all time, Annika Sorenstam, returns to Colonial on the 20-year anniversary of her playing in the 2003 tournament.
In her presentation to Executive Women’s Day attendees, Annika will reminisce about her historic experience at Colonial and share information about her new passion, the ANNIKA Foundation which she created in 2008 upon retiring from professional golf.
The ANNIKA Foundation develops and empowers the next generation of women around the world through the game of golf by providing opportunities in women’s golf at the junior, collegiate and professional levels while teaching young people the importance of personal development, including living a healthy, active lifestyle through fitness and nutrition.
The Charles Schwab Challenge Executive Women’s Day is proud to announce the event has created a new partnership with the Fort Worth Colonial Charities to support local charitable organizations that align with the purpose of the Executive Women’s Day program and who contribute so much to the Tarrant County community.
Fort Worth Colonial Charities is the Charles Schwab Challenge’s fundraising arm which has generated more than $185 million in cash and services for over 175 local organizations during the past two decades through the tournament’s Birdies for Charity campaign and grants.
To kick off the new Fort Worth Colonial Charities – Executive Women’s Day partnership during this year’s EWD event, the Executive Women’s Day Board of Directors and Fort Worth Colonial Charities have selected The Women’s Center of Tarrant County, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County to be the first beneficiaries of the fundraising campaign named “Help A Sister Up” (HASU).
According to Julie Butner, EWD Chair, Executive Women’s Day and Fort Worth Colonial Charities goal is to raise $50,000 to $75,000 through the event to support these two local charities whose focus is on providing services that support women and girls.
Julie Butner made these comments: “This year presented an opportunity to establish a new direction for EWD’s singular luncheon event. EWD has evolved into three separate events, all of which generate funds for local non-profit organizations to support women and girls in our local community. EWD sponsors are involved in the selection of local nonprofit charities that align with our vision to “Help a Sister Up”. This is an excellent example of empowering women to use their wealth and power to uplift other women and girls in our local community. I am pleased with our first-year fundraising results of nearly $75,000 and grateful for the support of our newly formed EWD Board of Directors.”
