PGA TOUR rookie Brice Garnett carded a 4-under par 66 on Thursday to take the lead at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial Country Club. Garnett has a two day score of 133 (-7).

Garnett is making his 19th career start on TOUR. His only start on TOUR outside this season was a missed cut at the 2012 U.S. Open. The Missouri native and graduate of Missouri Western State University earned a spot on TOUR this season by finishing No. 23 on the Web.com Tour priority list.

Prior to this week, Garnett had never been in the top 10 after the second or third round on TOUR. This is his first lead after any round on TOUR.

Garnett is hoping to become the first player to win the Colonial in his first start since Sergio Garcia in 2001.

Chris Stroud is T2 at -6. In round two, Stroud made the second most feet of

putts in a round on the PGA TOUR since 2003 when laser data was first used. Stroud made a total of 220’8″ of putts in the second round ranking second behind Brent Geiberger’s 240’4″ of putts made at the 2006 Booz Allen Classic in round one.

Through the first two rounds, Stroud has made seven putts from over 20 feet.

Oklahoma native Robert Streb (T2) missed the cut at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial in his only other start last year.

Streb has made nine of 10 cuts on TOUR this season with a career-best T2 finish at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. The second year player is making his 35th start on TOUR this week.

Streb grew up playing hockey with St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford.

World No. 1 Adam Scott made his TOUR leading 34th consecutive cut. Jason Day and Steve Stricker are tied for second on the list with 29 consecutive. Scott is T36 after round two.

Defending champion Boo Weekley is even-par after round two (T47) as he seeks to join Ben Hogan as the only players to win back- to-back Colonials, with Hogan performing the feat twice (1946-47 and 1952-53).

Zach Johnson (T60) made the cut on the number. He has five-consecutive top 10s at Colonial and has never finished outside of the top 30 in eight starts: 3-2013, 1-2012, 4-2011, 1-2010, T9-2009, T30-2006, T26-2005, T14-2004.

Ryan Palmer, who plays out of Colonial Country Club, cracked the top 10 for the first time at Colonial in his ninth start (T5 in 2012). Most recently, he finished T14 in 2013. Palmer is 2-under after round two (T23).

Matt Kuchar missed his second cut of the season (Northern Trust Open). He did not miss a cut in 23 starts in 2013, It is his first career missed cut at Colonial.

Jimmy Walker (T4) is the only player in the field without a bogey this week. Walker has only hit 9 of 28 fairways (32.1%) through the first two rounds, but has hit 26 of 36 Greens in Regulation. He ranks first after round two in Scrambling (10/10, 100%).
