Cowboys Beat Dolphins

Dallas rookie quarterback Dak Prescott accounted for four touchdowns, continuing his impressive preseason and leading the Cowboys to a 41-14 victory over the visiting Miami Dolphins on Friday.

Prescott threw touchdown passes to Dez Bryant and Brice Butler and scored on runs of 20 and 1-yard. He finished 12 of 15 for 199 yards with the two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Tony Romo started and led a six-play, 72-yard scoring drive, capped by Alfred Morris’ 15-yard cut-back touchdown run that gave Dallas an early 7-0 lead. Romo completed 4 of 5 passes for 49 yards, before giving way to Prescott late in the first quarter.

In his first two preseason games, Prescott has gone 22 of 27 for 338 yards and four touchdowns for the Cowboys (1-1).

Dallas’ dominant offensive line paved the way for a 170-yard ground attack and did not allow a sack. Morris finished with 85 yards rushing on 13 carries.

Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw a pair of touchdowns to Kenny Stills and completed 12 of 20 passes for 162 yards. But the Dolphins’ backups couldn’t put any points on the board. Twice, Miami (1-1) failed to convert on fourth-down tries inside the Dallas 10-yard line.

Running back Arian Foster made his debut with the Dolphins. The veteran, who is trying to come back from injury, had two carries for minus-5 yards.

Stills had 71 yards receiving, including touchdown catches of 13 and 3 yards.
