FC Dallas Loses To Seattle

{fshare id=2556}

FC Dallas continued to struggle Wednesday night as they fell to the Seattle Sounders 2-0.

Though they controlled the ball for most of the first hour of play, Dallas was shut out on every attack.  When Seattle’s Fredy Montero scored in the 68th minute, the wind seemed to go out of the sails for FCD.  The Dallas defenders looked a step slow as Montero scored again barely 2 minutes later.

Dallas tried to find a spark by inserting an injured Brek Shea into the game, but he was ineffective.  The Dallas offense clearly was hobbled by the absense of team scoring leader Blaz Perez and midfielder Daniel Hernandez, who were serving suspensions resulting from Sunday night’s game against Colorado.  Also missing from the lineup was team captain Ugo Ihemelu, who was held out with concussion symptoms.

FCD failed to score despite making 15 attempts on goal.   Though they could get the ball into scoring territory, the shots were either inaccurate or too slow to develop.

FC Dallas falls to 3-5-3, and will next go on the road to Columbus on Saturday.
