Frisco Shut Out By San Antonio

FRISCO, TEXAS – The Frisco RoughRiders fell to the San Antonio Missions 1-0 Sunday at Dr Pepper Ballpark. The ‘Riders split the series with San Antonio.

After pitching a perfect first, Rangers rehabbing pitcher Matt Harrison walked Tommy Medica to lead off the second. Yeison Asencio singled left, and then later in the frame, Austin Hedges knocked a single RBI drive down the right line, giving the Missions (26-18, 64-49) the 1-0 lead.

The RoughRiders (18-26, 57-57) struggled to get things going against the Missions solid pitching staff, getting six hits but leaving five on base.

In his Double-A debut, Rangers top pitching prospect Luke Jackson pitched two scoreless innings, walking one and striking out four. Matt Harrison (0-1) went a solid 3.2 innings tonight, striking out three. He allowed one run on three hits to suffer the loss. Keyvius Sampson (10-4) allowed four hits in seven innings and struck out six to earn the victory. Jeremy McBryde allowed one hit in the ninth to be credited with his tenth save.

After a scheduled day off, the ‘Riders take to the road for six games against

Texas League North Division foes. Frisco begins their road trip Tuesday against the defending Texas League Champion Springfield Cardinals at 7:09 at Hammons Field. Starters for Tuesday have yet to be announced. Fans can listen to the play-by-play on www.RidersBaseball.com beginning at 6:40 p.m.
