SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The Frisco RoughRiders beat the San Antonio Missions in ten innings on Thursday night by a 2-1 score at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. The ‘Riders can split the series with the Missions with a win on Friday night.

Both starters were impressive on Thursday night. Both Frisco’s Nick Martinez and San Antonio’s Juan Oramas fired three perfect innings to begin the game.

The RoughRiders (24-35, 63-66) got their first baserunner on a one-out walk by Rougned Odor, and he scored the first run. On a failed pickoff attempt at first base, Odor slid down to second base and then stole third. The Texas League leader in RBIs, Brett Nicholas drove him home with two down in the frame to give Frisco a 1-0 lead.

Martinez allowed his first baserunner in the fourth as well. Lee Orr knocked a single with two outs, but it was all the Missions (37-22, 75-53) would get in the inning. With two outs in the sixth, however, San Antonio finally got to Martinez. Rico Noel walked and then stole his league-leading 56th base. Corey Spangenburg drove Noel in to the tie the game at 1-1.

Neither team would score again until the tenth. The ‘Riders had runners at the corners with no one out in the ninth but ran into a double-play after two runners were tagged out on

rundowns. In the tenth, Tomas Telis was gunned out at home plate trying to score the go-ahead run on a single by Teodoro Martinez. Two batters later however, with only one out, Luis Sardinas singled home Martinez to give Frisco the lead at 2-1.

Lisalverto Bonilla plunked the leadoff man in the bottom of the tenth but retired the next three consecutively to end the ballgame.

Nick Martinez took the no-decision with a strong seven innings of one-run ball. He allowed only three hits and a walk and fanned four. Richard Bleier (4-5) earned the win. Matt Lollis (1-3) suffered the defeat
