Texas Rangers centerfielder Josh Hamilton became just the 16th player in Major League history to hit 4 home runs in a single game Tuesday night in Baltimore.  Hamilton batted in 8 runs during the Rangers 10-3 victory over the Orioles.  It marks the first time a player has hit 4 home runs in a game since Carlos Delgado in 2003.

Hamilton added a double in the game, making him 5-for-5 at the plate, with 18 total bases – a new American League record.  Hamilton now has 14 home runs on the season to go with his .406 batting average.

Other Rangers had luck at the plate against the Orioles, as a total of 5 players had multiple hits.  Adrian Beltre, playing in the designated hitter spot, followed Hamilton’s 3rd inning home run with one of his own.  Nelson Cruz listed a double amoung his 3 hits on the night.

Starting pitcher Neftali Feliz struck out a career-high 8 batters in 6 innings of work, giving up just 1 run.  Feliz goes to 2-1 on the year.  Koji Uehara and Scott Feldman each pitched scoreless innings for Texas.  Robbie Ross struggled on the mound, giving up 2 home runs among 4 hits in just 1 inning.

The Rangers have routed the Orioles for 2 straight games and will go for a 3rd tonight in Baltimore.
