HP Byron Nelson Championship Offers Fans Something New

IRVING, TX,  – The Salesmanship Club of Dallas kicked off the official HP Byron Nelson Championship season today with the announcement of several new fan enhancements for the 2012 tournament.

WHAT’S NEW IN 2012:

• Mobile app – Available for free download on iPhone and Android platforms, the app includes features such as an interactive map with a customizable legend, leaderboard, media gallery with daily photos from the tournament, social media updates and more. On-site at the tournament, fans will be eligible to win free daily prizes through the app by participating in the Discover the Nelson QR code hunt. The app will soon be available for Blackberry users.

• Free public parking – Parking is free to all patrons in the general public lot, which is located at 2000 E. John Carpenter Freeway (Hwy 114) in Irving. Free shuttles will transport patrons from the parking lot directly to the main tournament entrance. Directions and more info about parking at the Nelson can be found at http://www.hpbnc.org/parking.

• Family picnic areas – New in 2012, there will be several family picnic areas located at convenient, shady locations around the golf course. There will also be “kids-only” viewing areas available at various greenside locations.

The 2012 HP Byron Nelson Championship will be played May 14-20 at the TPC Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas in Irving.
