Last 4 Champs To Play At Byron Nelson

IRVING, TX –HP Byron Nelson Championship officials announced that the past four Nelson Champions will be returning to TPC Four Seasons this May. Jason Dufner (2012), Keegan Bradley (2011), Jason Day (2010) and Rory Sabbatini (2009) have all committed to compete at the 2013 Nelson.

“We are proud of the continued successes and accomplishments of each of these HP Byron Nelson champions. They honor our tournament, our charity and the legacy of Byron Nelson by their loyalty and support,” 2013 Tournament Chairman Mike McKinley said. ” We are expecting an extremely strong field and their commitment to play in this year’s tournament will only add to the anticipation and excitement of another memorable Championship.”

Defending champion Jason Dufner won twice on the PGA TOUR in 2012 and competed on the U.S. Ryder Cup team. He has continued his strong play in 2013, posting three top-25 finishes in six starts, including a T12 at the World Golf Championships-Cadillac.

Keegan Bradley is coming off a successful 2012 that culminated with him joining Dufner as a

member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team. Bradley has started 2013 with six top-25 finishes including a T3 last weekend at the Arnold Palmer invitational. Bradley’s first TOUR win came at the 2011 Nelson.

2010 Nelson Champion Jason Day has had a solid start to this season. Day has posted three top-10 finishes with his best showing a third place finish at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. He also claimed his first career TOUR victory at the Nelson.

The 2009 Nelson Champion Rory Sabbatini is coming off his best finish of the year at the Tampa Bay Championship presented by EverBank, finishing T27. He has six wins on TOUR and ranks 23rd in Career Earnings.

The field will not be final until Friday, May 10 at 5 p.m. The 2013 HP Byron Nelson Championship will be played May 13-19 at the TPC Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas in Irving.
