Last-minute goal lifts Stars over Avalanche

Dallas – Team Captain Brenden Morrow ignited a fire in the Dallas Stars in the 3rd period and capped it off by scoring the winning goal with just 59.8 seconds remaining in the game.  Morrow had just 5 minutes earlier provided an assist to Mike Ribeiro to tie the game at 1-1.

With the game scoreless going into the 3rd period, the action intensified.  Dallas mounted an offensive charge early, but was denied by Colorado goalie Craig Anderson.  The Avalanche then got a goal from Kevin Porter as they stormed the net repeatedly.

Dallas was able to tie the game with the power-play goal from Morrow and Ribeiro.

As time wound down, Morrow broke past 2 defenders and scored the game winner.

Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen made 22 saves on the night, being under attack most of the game.  The Stars defended all 7 Colorado power plays.
