FORT WORTH, Texas – Junior guard Zahna Medley was named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 19.0 points to help lead TCU to victories over Iowa State and No. 16 Oklahoma State.

The award is the first of Medley’s career and her fifth weekly Big 12 honor after picking up four freshman accolades during 2012-13 season.

Medley, who also averaged 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals in the two contests, shot 50 percent from the field (9-of-18), including a 4-of-9 mark from 3-point range, and was 16-of-18 (.889) from the free-throw line.

Medley posted a team-best 21 points, four assists and three steals against Iowa State, playing a pivotal role in one of the greatest comebacks in school history as the Horned Frogs overcame a 24-point second-half deficit.

Trailing by 20 points with 12:00 remaining against the Cyclones, Medley got the ball rolling with a pair of free throws and a steal and assist.

Following a layup, Medley drained her first 3-pointer of the contest to bring the contest back to single digits (8 points) for the first time since the 13:52 mark of the opening half. Medley would strike again from downtown to close the gap to just four points with under seven minutes remaining.

Medley converted a career-best 11 free throws on 13 attempts, including nine in the second half.

The Springfield, Ill., native followed up with 17 points to help TCU topple No. 16 Oklahoma State on Saturday, going 5-of-8 from the field, including a 2-of-3 mark from distance, and a perfect 5-of-5 performance from the charity stripe.

Medley knocked down another timely 3-pointer against the Cowgirls with under seven minutes to play to spark a 12-0 run, and sealed the contest with a steal and lob to Natalie Ventress to put TCU ahead by six with 20 seconds remaining.

Medley currently leads the Big 12 in free-throw percentage (.900) while ranking second in 3-pointers per game (2.5) and third in scoring (16.3 ppg).
