FRISCO, TEXAS  – Roy Oswalt will make his third minor league tune-up start at Dr Pepper Ballpark for the Frisco RoughRiders on Tuesday night against the Midland RockHounds. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Oswalt signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on May 29 and has made two starts for Triple-A Round Rock as he readies himself to pitch in the Major Leagues once again. He most recently pitched on Thursday night in Omaha, allowing five runs on six hits in four innings. Tuesday night’s start will be Oswalt’s first in the Texas League since 2000 when he spent the entire season pitching for the Express, which at the time was the Double-A affiliate of the Houston Astros.

Oswalt was a three-time All-Star with the Astros in 2005, 2006 and 2007. He was the 2005 NLCS MVP and the next season led the National League in ERA. He spent last year with the Philadelphia Phillies, going 9-10 in 23 starts with a 3.69 ERA. In 339 Major League games, Oswalt is 159-93 with a 3.21 ERA and 1,759 strikeouts.

Tickets for Tuesday’s game still remain and may be purchased at the Dr Pepper Ballpark box office, online at www.ridersbaseball.com or by calling (972) 731-9200.
