Packers win Super Bowl 45

The Green Bay Packers win the Lombardi Trophy, named after their legendary coach, for the 4th time by defeating the Pittsburg Steelers 31-25 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The Packers took advantage of 2 early interceptions of Steeler QB Ben Roethlisberger to take a 21-3 lead in the second quarter.

As injuries started to arise for Green Bay, Pittsburg gained momentum and ultimately pulled within 3-points at 28-25 midway through the 4th quarter.  The Packers forced another turnover, and marched down the field for the final field goal with just over 2 minutes remaining.

Down by 6, Roethlisberger tried to lead a final comeback drive, but could not get the ball across mid-field.

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers was named game MVP, completing 24 of 39 passes for 304 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Pittsburg controlled the ground game, limiting the Packers to just 50 yards rushing while compiling 126 of their own and dominating the time of possession.
