The Texas Rangers closed out a road series against the Red Sox with a 10-9 victory on Wednesday.
Rangers pitcher Matt Harrison started the game, but would leave the game after 4 2/3 innings. Harrison was suffering from a virus and had to be given IV fluids during the game. Harrison gave up 5 runs on 8 hits before leaving the game.
The Texas offense picked up the slack for the pitcher, generating 10 runs on 11 hits. The Rangers hit 4 home runs in the game. Mitch Moreland, Josh Hamilton, and Nelson Cruz all went deep, as did Geovany Soto in just his 5th game as a Ranger.
Hamilton also had a triple as part of his 3-hit game with 4 runs batted in. Elvis Andrus went 3-for-4 in the game and scored 3 runs.
Roy Oswalt pitched an inning and a third, giving up 4 runs. Alexi Ogando threw 2 scoreless innings and is credited with the win. Joe Nathan earned his 23rd save of the season.
Texas will have the day off before opening a homestand against Detroit on Friday at the Ballpark.
