FRISCO, TEXAS – The Frisco RoughRiders won the first game of their series with the San Antonio Missions, 4-3 on Tuesday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. The ‘Riders never trailed in the game and won their third straight.

The RoughRiders (14-11) started the game much like the night before, coming alive quickly in the first. Chih-Hsien Chiang reached on a fielding error by third baseman Jake Blackwood and Jared Hoying scored to make it 3-0 Frisco.

The Missions (13-12) remained silent through the first three innings, but following a single by Everett Williams, Cody Decker blasted a two-run home run to deep left to shrink the lead to 3-2.

Frisco answered in the bottom of the fourth with singles by Ryan Strauborger and Teodoro Martinez. A successful double steal advanced the runners to second and third, and an

RBI single by Alberto brought Strausborger home, extending the ‘Riders lead to 4-2.

In the eighth, reliever Jimmy Reyes loaded the bases and gave up a run on an RBI groundout by Blackwood, shortening the lead to 4-3.

The Missions threatened in the ninth after Frisco reliever Jake Brigham loaded the bases with one out. He struck out Rico Noel and Williams to end the game as the RoughRiders held on for the win.

Allowing only five hits and two runs in six innings, Carlos Pimentel (3-1) earned the victory while Missions right-hander Sampson (0-1) suffered the defeat. Brigham was credited with his second save.
