RoughRiders Lose On Opening Day

The Frisco RoughRiders opened the season with a new look on Thursday night at Dr. Pepper Ballpark.  The debut of the new logo, colors, and uniform were spoiled by the visiting  Arkansas Travelers, who walked away with a 8-4 victory.

Drew Robinson excited the home crowd with the first home run of the season, which gave the Riders their only lead of the game, 3-2.

Alec Asher started the game for the RoughRiders, giving up 2 runs in 4 innings while striking out 5.  Cody Buckel earned the loss pitching in the 5th inning.  Texas Rangers pitcher Tanner Sheppers, on a rehab assignment, struck out the side in his 8th inning appearance.

Eight Riders batters had hits in the game.

The RoughRiders will try to get their first win Friday night at Dr. Pepper Ballpark.  First pitch is set for 7:05pm.
