Stars beat New York Islanders 5-4

The Dallas Stars are off to a 2-0 start after Saturday’s 5-4 victory over the New York Islanders. 

Stars capatain Brenden Morrow scored twice to lead the Stars to their 2nd straight road win to open the season.  Stephane Robidas and Jamie Benn also found the net for Dallas.  Taking the final shot of a scoreless shootout, Mike Ribeiro made the winning goal for the Stars.

Goaltender Kari Lehtonen continued his specatacular play, saving 43 shots, including all 3 in the shootout.

The Stars open at home Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings and their former captain Mike Modano.
