Stars beat Red Wings 4-1

The Dallas Stars defeated the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 Thursday night in Detroit.  Dallas snapped a 5-game losing streak with the victory.

The Stars scored twice in the first period on goals by Mike Ribeiro and Loui Eriksson.   They extended the lead to 3-0 in the 2nd with a wrist shot by Krystofer Barch.

Detroit tried to come back in the 3rd period with a power-play goal before Jamie Langenbrunner put the game away with a wrist shot into an empty net.

Dallas has now won 9 of the last 12 against Detroit.

Goaltender Kari Lehtonen made 38 saves in the game.

The Stars return home to host Nashville on Saturday at the American Airlines Center.
