Stars dominate Sharks

The Dallas Stars may be all but dead for the season, but they still managed to thoroughly whip the Western Conference leader San Jose Sharks for the 4th time this season.  Steve Ott led the way for the Stars, scoring his 1st career hat trick.  Also scoring for Dallas was Loui Eriksson and Brian Sutherby.

Dallas, who is 7 points behind Colorado for the final playoff spot with 5 games remaining, was playing mostly for pride.  “We’ve got a lot of pride in this dressing room,” said Steve Ott,  “We might not make the playoffs here, or it’s pretty unrealistic right now, but to finish with character and finish with pride, I think means more than anything. And to go out there and give the fans a good showing, show the people how much character and heart we have in here, and build on that with all of the youth that we have here, I think is the important thing we take the rest of the way.”

The Stars will stay home to take on Edmonton on Friday.
