Stars end 2010 with loss

The Dallas Stars continued their recent home struggles with a 4-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks friday night.   Dallas is 0-3-1 in their last 4 games at home.

The Stars outplayed Vancouver most of the night, but Canuck goalie Cory Schneider made 44 saves throughout the game.  Dallas captain Brenden Morrow made the only Stars goal in the 3rd period.

Three of Vancouvers goals came on power-plays, a fact not lost on Dallas coach Marc Crawford.   “I think tonight we played a pretty strong game, but we had some adversity and it came in the form of penalties that were self-inflicted for the most part and we didn’t have any confidence in our penalty kill,” Crawford said. “I thought that maybe we were reading their press clippings about how good their power play is, and it seemed to me, we were back on our heels, and when we got aggressive on the penalty kill, I thought we killed much better.”

The Stars go on the road to St. Louis on Sunday.
