Stars lose 4-1

The Dallas Stars lost to the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night 4-1.  It is the 3rd time this season the Canucks have beaten the Stars.

Special teams hurt the Stars again, as Vancouver scored twice on power plays.   Vancouver also scored a short-handed goal.  “We were in the game there, but the short-handed goal, it’s tough to swallow,” said Stars center Brad Richards. “It hit Loui’s stick and just exploded. It wasn’t like we were out of position, we had our position, it’s just one of those things. For some reason, in three games, they’ve gotten those bounces, we haven’t.”

This is the 3rd loss by the Stars in the last 4 games.  “We had our opportunities tonight and we got to take responsibility for not jumping on the opportunities that we had,” Stars coach Marc Crawford said. “Special teams are so important and that was the difference tonight.”

The lone Dallas goal came from Loui Eriksson, his 18th of the season.

Kari Lehtonen was the losing goaltender, giving up the 4 goals on just 26 shots.

Dallas plays at Boston Thursday night.
