The Dallas Stars fell to the Detroit Red Wings 5-4 Tuesday night at the American Airlines Center.  Dallas falls to 21-16-1 for the season.

Michael Ryder scored 2 goals for the Stars.  Ryder leads the team with 17 goals.  He has scored points in 9 of his last 11 games.

Loui Eriksson scored a goal and an assist, giving him points in 7 of the last 9 games.

Jamie Benn’s goal and two assists now give him points in nine of his last eleven games (4g, 10a). It was Benn’s third three-point game of the season and his team-leading 11th multi-point game of the year. It’s the first game the Stars have lost in regulation when Benn has a multi-point effort (9-1-1).

After being recalled from the Texas Stars (AHL) on Jan. 1, Jordie Benn registered his first point of his career with an assist on Loui Eriksson’s goal.

The Stars did not take a penalty in the game — the first time they hadn’t been penalized since Feb. 4, 2010, in Columbus (2-1 L), which is a span of 145 games.

Dallas travels to Nashville next to take on the Predators on Thursday night.
