Stars lose to Devils

The New Jersey Devils won their first game in Dallas since Mar. 10, 2002 when they beat the Stars 3-0 (a span of 3,272 days). Prior to tonight, Dallas had beaten New Jersey in four-straight home games by a combined score of 14-6.

Although Dallas failed to score a goal tonight, it was just the fourth time this season Dallas has been held off the sheet. In three of the last four times Dallas has been shutout, it has been by a final score of 1-0. Dallas allowed only one goal on 23 shots tonight.

Dallas’ record against Eastern Conference opponents dropped to 11-5-1 this season. Despite the loss, Dallas still owns the most wins of any Western Conference team against the Eastern Conference.  Last season, Dallas finished with a 7-9-2 record against their Eastern Conference foes (fewest wins in Western Conference).

Kari Lehtonen now has a 7-5-1 record against Eastern Conference opponents this season. In that span he has a .923 SV% and 2.36 GAA. Additionally, he has registered a .910 SV% or higher in 27 of his 48 appearances this season.

Jamie Langenbrunner faced off against his former club for the first time since being acquired by Dallas. He finished the evening with two shots and 18:43 of ice time.

Alex Goligoski made his Dallas debut registering one shot, one hit and 23:34 of ice time.

The Stars will travel to Detroit to faceoff against the Red Wings on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. CST on FOX Sports Southwest.
