Stars Lose To Sharks

The Dallas Stars lost to the San Jose Sharks 5-2 Thursday night in San Jose. It is the second straight loss for Dallas, who opened a 5-game road trip.
Andrew Raycroft started again as goalie for the Stars in place of the injured Kari Lehtonen. Raycroft gave up 5 goals on 24 shots. He was replaced for the 3rd period by Richard Bachman, who allowed no goals on 12 shots.
The Sharks jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the opening period, but Dallas was able to fight back to tie the game at 2-2 midway through the 2nd. Once the game was tied, San Jose came to life and closed out the 2nd period with 3 straight goals for the win.
Brenden Morrow returned to the Stars lineup from injured reserve to score a goal and an assist. Mike Ribeiro scored his 3rd goal of the season and also was credited with an assist.
The Stars continue their road trip Saturday in Los Angeles.
