The Dallas Stars and New York Rangers meet up for their first and only contest of the season on Tuesday night. Dallas has earned points in four of the last five games against the Rangers going 3-1-1 in that span. Three of those games have been decided by one goal, with Dallas earning a 2-0-1 record in those games.

Dallas will play their third contest of the five game trip on Tuesday night. On the trip, the Stars face the San Jose Sharks (L), the Los Angeles Kings (W), the New York Rangers, the New York Islanders and the New Jersey Devils. The entire trip is over 5,500 miles, including a West Coast to East Coast swing that encompasses over 2,400 miles (and a total flight time of 4 hours, 50 minutes). The last time the Stars went from the Pacific Time zone to the Eastern Time zone on the same trip was during the 2009-10 season when Dallas flew from Los Angeles to Raleigh on a five-game trip.

This is will be Dallas’ first visit to Madison Square Garden since January 6, 2010 and just their fourth visit to the Big Apple since the lost lockout season (2004-05). In that same span, the Stars have met up with their division rival the Los Angeles Kings (whom they played on Saturday night) at Staples Center 20 times.
