The Dallas Stars re-signed center Vernon Fiddler to a two-year contract Wednesday.

The deal is for $2.5 million, with $1 million next season and $1.5 million in 2015-16, according to ESPN. That’s a decrease in salary from the $1.8 million average per year in Fiddler’s previous contract.

Fiddler, 34, contributed six goals and 17 assists in 76 games last season for the Stars.

In 11 NHL seasons with the Nashville Predators, Coyotes and Stars, Fiddler has 77 goals and 129 assists in 656 games.

On Tuesday, the Stars landed center Jason Spezza in a trade with the Ottawa Senators.
