Stars Regain 1st Place

The Dallas Stars moved into 1st place in the Pacific Division with a 3-1 win over the Oilers in Edmonton on Wednesday night.

Michael Ryder scored 2 goals and assisted on a 3rd as Dallas took a 3-0 advantage before Edmonton finally got on the board in the 3rd period.  Mike Ribeiro was the other hot player for the Stars, as he scored a goal and assisted on both of Ryder’s.

Dallas goaltender Kari Lehtonen stopped 31 of 32 shots, finally allowing Ales Hemsky to score for Edmonton late in the game.

For the first time since 2007-2008, the Stars swept the 4-game series with the Oilers.

Dallas stays in Canada to face Vancouver on Friday, their 3rd straight road game.
