Stars Top Wild 4-1

The Dallas Stars defeated the Minnesota Wild 4-1 Friday night at the American Airlines Center.  It is the 1500th win in franchise history.  The Stars have won 3 games in a row and are in 8th place in the Western Conference.

Tom Wandell scored 2 goals for the Stars, the first a snap shot, assisted by Adam Burish and Trevor Daley, in the opening period.  Wandell’s 2nd goal came in the final minute as he hit an empty-netter, assisted by Steve Ott and Stefan Robidas.

Loui Eriksson scored for Dallas in the 1st period with assists by Michael Ryder and Mike Ribeiro.  Eric Nystrom also got a goal for the Stars, with assists by Radek Dvorak and Vernon Fiddler.

Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen saved 28 of 29 shots on goal in the win.

Minnesota has not won in Dallas since 2003.

The Stars will host Vancouver on Sunday.
