The Stars (31-27-10) won 5-3 at Washington. Kari Lehtonen stopped 19 shots while Curtis Mckenzie, Jason Demers, Cody Eakin, Alex Goligoski and Patrick Eaves who overcame a 1-0 deficit in the game. The Stars are 3-1-0 on the current five game road trip. This is the last game on the road trip for the Stars. Trying desperately to hang onto their playoff dreams, the Stars will be tested by the second night of a back-to-back. They are 1-6-1 in second nights and are yielding an average of 4.9 goals in those games.

Defenseman John Klingberg, who left Tuesday’s game with an upper-body injury is expected to be a game time decision on Friday. Center Cody Eakin, who missed Tuesday’s game due to a team discipline issue, is expected to be a game-time decision as well.

Injuries: D  John Klingberg (upper body) is questionable. D Trevor Daley (lower body), LW Travis Moen (upper body) and RW Valeri Nichushkin (hip) are out.

Washington (36-22-10) is coming off a 3-1 loss to the Rangers and is 3-5-0 in the last eight games. Power-play goals by Washington, second-most in the NHL. The Caps also rank second in power-play success rate at 25.0 percent. Ovechkin leads all NHL players with 21 power-play goals

Injuries: C Michael Latta (upper body) and D Mike Green (upper body) are questionable. C Jay Beagle (upper body), D John Erskine (neck) and D Brooks Orpik (lower body) are out.
