Stars win big

The Dallas Stars matched a season-high for goals with a 6-1 victory over the Atlanta Thrashers Saturday night.

Trevor Daley and James Neal each had 2 goals for the Stars.  Adam Burish and Jeff Woywitka each added a goal in the Stars rout.  The Stars were 4 for 5 on power-play attempts.

Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonen had 29 saves playing against his former team.   “It was the most exciting game for me this year, lots of emotions,” Lehtonen said. “I played my own game, the guys came up big there in the third period and the last parts of the second. It was a good win.”

Both teams played a very physical game.  After having an exchange during the pre-game warm-ups, the teams combined for 4 fighting penalties and a misconduct.

The Stars stay home to play the Kings Monday night.
