Stars Win Shootout Against Wild

The Dallas Stars defeated the Minnesota Wild 2-1 in a shootout Saturday night at the American Airlines Center.  The Stars have won 15 consecutive home games against the Wild (15-0-0). The team’s last lost against Minnesota at home was on March 21, 2003 (2-3 OT).  Dallas is 4-2 in shootouts this year.

Mike Ribeiro scored a power-play goal for the Stars late in the 2nd period to open the scoring.  Ribeiro’s goal gives him points in ten of his last 14 games (8g-6a-14pts). With his goal, Ribeiro ties Jamie Benn for the team lead in power play points with nine.

Alex Goligoski assisted on Ribeiro’s goal, giving him points in four out of his last five games (1g-4a-5pts).

Kari Lehtonen’s home shutout streak was snapped in the third period after going 121:42 without allowing a goal.  Lehtonen gave up a goal to Kyle Brodziak for the Wild’s only score.  Lehtonen stopped 33 of 34 shots.

Michael Ryder skated in his 600th career NHL game.

Dallas will host Phoenix on Tuesday at the AAC.
