TCU Routs Baylor

TCU’s redshirt freshman quarterback  Trevone Boykin led the Horned Frogs to a 49-21 thumping of Baylor Saturday night in Waco.  It is  the 14th straight conference road win for TCU.

Boykin passed for 261 yards and rushd for another 56 in the game, accounting for 5 total touchdowns.  Boykin passed for 4 scores and ran for 1.  It is only Boykin’s 2nd start for the Frogs, replacing suspended quarterback Casey Pachall for the remainder of the season.

TCU dominated the time of possession in the game, holding the ball 41:52 compared to Baylors 18:08.  TCU converted 14 of 19 third-down attempts.  The Frogs were assisted by 6 Baylor turnovers, 4 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries.

B.J. Catalon and Aundre Dean led the rushing game for TCU, gaining 79 and 73 yards respectively.  Baylor’s leading rusher was Jarred Salubi with 61 yards on 12 carries.

TCU gained 509 yards total offense, the second game of the season with over 500 yards (531 yards versus Grambling State).

The 5-1 Frogs host Texas Tech next Saturday in Fort Worth.
