Texas Tech Tops TCU

In the 3rd overtime round, Texas Tech came out on top of TCU 56-53.  After coming back from a 10-point deficit in the final minutes to force overtime, TCU settled for a field goal on their 3rd OT possession and failed to keep Tech out of the end zone.  It is the first time since 1999 that the Horned Frogs have lost consecutive home games.

TCU kicker Jaden Oberkrom was 6 for 6 on field goals in the contest.  Oberkrom is 14 for 16 on the year.  The six field goals set a TCU and Big 12 single-game record.

Freshman quarterback Trevone Boykin completed 26 of 44 passes for 332 yards and 4 touchdowns.  Skye Dawson led the receivers with 10 catches for 154 yards.  

B.J. Catalon and Matthew Tucker each had 12 rushes.  Catalon gained 72 yards and Tucker 59.

Texas Tech quarterback Seth Doege threw for 7 touchdowns while completing 30 of 42 passes for 318 yards.

TCU outgained Tech 516 yards to 389.  

The Frogs drop to 2-2 in the conference, 5-2 overall.  The 18th ranked Red Raiders are 3-1 in conference play and 6-1 overall.
