Visit Red Cross Stations For Tornado Relief

Following a deadly tornado outbreak across the North Texas area, the American Red Cross rushed to open shelters, conduct damage assessments and provide families with meals, snacks and supplies.

As the relief efforts continue, new services are becoming available, including a new emergency aid station at the corner of Country Club Lane and Hyde Park Boulevard in Cleburne, Texas. The tented aid station is a hub where tornado victims can receive snacks and beverages, relief items such as rakes, shovels and work gloves and talk with Red Cross health and mental health workers in one, central location.

The aid station will be open Monday – Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m, and from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Sundays for as long as it is needed in the community.

Red Cross teams are also out working in the disaster zones on Emergency Response Vehicles in Johnson County to make sure families have food, water and relief supplies such as shovels, rakes, work gloves, trash bags, sunscreen and more to help them with their salvaging efforts.

In total, more than 40 homes were destroyed by the storms in Johnson County. The Red Cross is also working in Hood, Parker, Montague and Ellis counties where tornadoes touched down in Wednesday evening’s outbreak.
