The HP Byron Nelson Championship, played at the TPC Four Seasons Resort in Irving, Texas, was suspended due to darkness following a 3-hour weather delay this morning.
Five players are tied atop the leaderboard at -4. Jason Day and Joe Durant have completed the round, with Steve Elkington, Hunter Mahan and Jarrod Lyle to finish the round on Friday.
Another 5 players are tied for 6th, with Dustin Johnson, Jay Williamson and Marc Leishman completing the round at -3.
Jason Day almost withdrew from the event due to illness. He has seen half a dozen doctors in the past few months before finally seeing a local allergist who diagnosed a chronic sinus infection. Day said the medicines he has been taking make him feel sick. This morning he wanted to just get in the car and go home. He stuck it out, and the long delay helped him.
Round 2 tee times will be delayed an hour while the remaining players finish.
