NOTES
Graeme McDowell won the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship this weekend for his first PGA Tour title since November 2015.
The tournament was played opposite the Match Play.
“It’s difficult to win on the PGA Tour,” McDowell said. “Don’t like calling this a second-tier event, but obviously, the best players in the world are in Austin, Texas, this week. Still got a great field down here.”
McDowell’s 18-under was good enough for a one-stroke victory over Chris Stroud and Mackenzie Hughes.
Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was in the filed for the second consecutive year. He shot 79 and 80 in the first two rounds for +15 and missed the cut.
Romo will next tee it up in the AT&T Byron Nelson at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas in May.
