Arlington Martin Tops Flower Mound

The Arlington Martin Warriors took the lead early over the Flower Mound Jaguars and never relinquished it in a 56-41 victory.

On Flower Mound’s opening possession, Martin’s Devonte Fields intercepted a Marshall Williams pass and returned it 70 yards for a touchdown.  It was one of two interceptions made by Fields, a defensive end for Martin.

Flower Mound continued to attack by air, with Williams throwing 62 times for 433 yards.  He threw 5 touchdowns to go with his 3 interceptions.  Williams used 9 different receivers, targeting Chas Taylor most often.  Taylor ended the night with 6 catches for 110 yards.  Brendan Ianiero caught 2 passes for 127 yards, taking both to the end zone.

Arlington Martin’s success was on the ground.  Kyle Hicks and Cameron Williams ran for 308 of Martin’s 336 rushing yards.  Hicks had 195 yards and 2 touchdowns while Williams added 113 yards and a touchdown.

Martin quarterback Brodie Lambert was 9 of 16 for 115 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Martin improves to 3-0 while Flower Mound drops to 1-2 on the season.
