Blake To Face Monfils In Houston Monday Night

HOUSTON – James Blake, the 2008 US Men’s Clay Court Championship runner-up, will play the first night session match of the 2013 tournament when he takes on Gael Monfils of France at 6 p.m. Monday night at River Oaks Country Club.
That match was one of several announced Saturday as part of a preliminary schedule for the tournament. Here’s a look at the intended order of play for select matches, which is subject to change, with the precise schedule of these matches to be announced the day before:
MONDAY NIGHT SESSION – James Blake vs. Gael Monfils
TUESDAY DAY SESSION – Michael Russell vs Qualifier; Jack Sock vs Qualifier
TUESDAY NIGHT SESSION – Fernando Verdasco vs Steve Johnson; John Isner vs Ryan Harrison
WEDNESDAY DAY SESSION – Lleyton Hewitt vs Martin Alund
WEDNESDAY NIGHT SESSION – Nicolas Almagro vs winner of Blake-Monfils
THURSDAY (session to be determind) – Juan Monaco vs winner of Josselin Ouanna-Tim Smyzcek; Sam Querrey vs winner of Rhyne Williams-Guido Pella
Day sessions will begin at 12 p.m., while night sessions will begin at 6 p.m. during the upcoming week.
Sunday’s second round of qualifying will begin at 11 a.m. This session will be FREE to the public to attend.
