Cowboys Lose To Packers

The Dallas Cowboys played their ugliest game of the season thus far against the Green Bay Packers. It took the Cowboys 59 minutes and 22 seconds just to score in the 17-7 defeat.

Dallas could never get anything going on offense as the pack spent all day in the Cowboys backfield. On the rare occasion Dallas gained yards, it usually ended with a fumble or penalty.  Tony Romo was beat up all day and turned the ball over 3 times.  Though he was able to connect with Roy Williams for over 100 yards, Williams wasn’t able to hold on to the ball after he caught it either. Dallas could not convert on any 3rd downs until late in the 4th quarter.  The defense played well most of the game, but were beat down by the end of the game.

Dallas abandoned the running game early, only 14 total rushing attempts for the team, with 3 of those by Romo. Marion Barber averaged over 5 yards per carry. As the Cowboys were successful with the rush, it remains a mystery why they continued to force the pass, especially considering the lack of passing success.

The Cowboys were hit by injuries, with left guard Marc Colombo going out with a broken leg.  Hamlin and Jenkins both go out from defensive secondary.

Dallas got back to it’s penalty spree, gathering 10 more to their total.

The Cowboys showed again they must focus on every game and not pay attention to all the hype.  The game is played on the field, not the airwaves.
