Cowboys Lose To Patriots

The Dallas Cowboys kept things interesting at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachussetts.  As they have in every game this season, the Cowboys held the lead in the 4th quarter.  Like they have in 3 games this season, the Cowboys lost the lead and the game.  The Patriots drove 80 yards in 10 plays to take the lead 20-16 with only 22 seconds left on the clock.

New England quarterback Tom Brady looked almost human up until the final drive.  Brady was sacked 3 times and threw 2 interceptions in the game.  The Cowboys defense, healthy for the first time all year, held the Patriots to their lowest point total of the season.

The Dallas offense could not generate much.  The offensive line was no match for the Patriot defense.  Dallas only generated 77 yards on the ground, 17 of it coming from quarterback Tony Romo on a scramble.  Romo was sacked twice and hurried most of the day.

Without a ground attack, Romo was force to throw 41 times, completing 27 for 317 yards.  Miles Austin led the Cowboys receivers with 7 catches, but tight end Jason Witten caught the only touchdown pass.

The Cowboys hurt themselves with penalties.  Dallas was flagged 13 times in the game, many at critical moments.

Dallas looked good at times, but the inconsistencies are keeping the team from being successful.  The Cowboys are keeping things close, but really good teams find a way to win close games.  The Patriots showed that today.
