Cowboys Win In Minnesota

The third game of the preseason is considered a dress rehearsal for most teams.  That idea was true as the starters for both the Cowboys and Vikings played into the third quarter Saturday night in Minnesota.  Despite not being able to contain Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, the Cowboys managed to win 23-17.

The difference in the game was turnovers.  Gerald Sensabaugh blocked a field-goal attempt which was picked up by Alan ball for a Cowboys touchdown.  On the very next possession, Sensabaugh intercepted a Donovan McNabb pass to set up another Cowboys scoring drive.

The Cowboys offense was effective, with starter Tony Romo going 15 of 20 for 141 yards.  Dallas added another 117 yards rushing on 29 attempts by 11 different players.

Dez Bryant and Jason Witten led the receivers, with 9 catches between them for 84 yards.

The Dallas defense still looks out of sorts, unable to stop the Vikings rushing attack.  Minnesota ran for 175 yards, averaging 6.5 yards per carry.  Peterson logged 81 yards on 14 carries.  The Vikings also had success through the air, eating up 305 yards.

Kicker Dan Bailey connected on field goals of 37, 38, and 41 yards.

The Cowboys close out the preseason Thursday night in Miami.
