The Dallas Mavericks have their backs against the wall after falling behind 2-0 in the best-of-seven playoff series with Oklahoma City.  The Thunder beat the Mavericks 102-99 Monday night in Oklahoma City.

Dallas again had the lead late in the game, but failed to hit key shots in the final minute.  The Mavs were only 1-for-5 in the final 2 minutes.  “It’s tough, we’re right there we’re just a couple of bounces from being up 2-0. But we’re not gonna lay down. We’re not gonna give it to ’em, they gotta take it,” said Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki.

The Mavericks dominated in the paint, outscoring Oklahoma City 40-18, but were cold from long distance, hitting just 21.7% from 3-point range.

Nowitzki led all scorers with 31 points, and four other Mavericks scored in double figures: Shawn Marion (15), Delonte West (13), Jason Terry (13), and Jason Kidd (10).

The Mavericks will return to Dallas for Game 3 on Saturday at the American Airlines Center.
