The Dallas Tennis Classic got underway at the Las Colinas Four Seasons Resort. In the first day of action, the No. 2 seed, Alex Bogomolov Jr was upset by Flavio Cipolla. Wild card Benjamin Becker defeated Igor Kunitsyn in straight sets. Michael Russell shutout John Nallon. Igor Andreev needed 3 sets to best Frederico Gil. Yen-Hsun Lu defeated wild card Amir Delic.
In doubles, the American team of Bobby Reynolds and Michael Russell defeated the Italians Simone Bolelli and Thomas Fabbiano. Marin Cilic and Nicholas Monroe defeated Sasha Ermakov and Shane Vinsant. Wild cards Adham El-Effendi and Darren Walsh topped Lukas Lacko and Lukas Rosol.
