Final day for Texas Stadium

Texas Stadium, once the showcase of the NFL, will be imploded in less than 24 hours.  Home to the Dallas Cowboys for 37 years, Texas Stadium became one of the most recognized structures in the world.  With it’s iconic hole in the roof, Texas Stadium became the symbol of success and excess of Texas.

Seen in movies, commercials, TV series, concerts, and of course, countless nationally televised Dallas Cowboys football games, Texas Stadium is known worldwide.

The Dallas Cowboys amassed a 219-99 record there, including 16 playoff victories.  During this time, the team won 5 Super Bowl championships and provided the NFL’s All-Time Leading Rusher, Emmitt Smith.

Lewis said in 1981 “Texas Stadium has a hole in the roof so God can watch his favorite team play.”

In 1975, Texas Stadium established the Dallas Cowboys’ Ring of Honor to recognize former players, coaches and club officials who have made outstanding contributions to the organization.
