The Flower Mound Jaguars improved to 2-0 on the season with a 28-21 victory over South Grand Prairie on Friday night.

Flower Mound jumped to an early lead on a 30-yard run by quarterback Connor Wanhanen.  The Jaguars would alternate quarterbacks and extend the lead on a 24-yard pass from Matt Hirst to Delvin Holmes.  The Warriors stormed right back to close the gap with an 8-yard run by Laquinton Bailey.  After both offenses were shut down, Flower Mound recovered a blocked punt in the end zone to go into halftime with a 21-7 lead.

The 2nd half opened with 3 straight punts before Bailey scampered 31 yards for another Grand Prairie touchdown.  Flower Mound answered with a Hirst 19-yard touchdown pass to Josh Bennett.  Elijah Wright took the Warriors down the field with a 42-yard pass to Bryan Ajumobi and capped the drive with a 15-yard TD run.

Both offenses were shut down the remainder of the game, with South Grand Prairie running out of time on the final drive.

South Grand Prairie rushed for 241 yards in the game, but it was the 61% pass completion rate that allowed Flower Mound to seal the victory.
