Marcus Over Arlington Lamar 27-7
In a Thursday night matchup, Flower Mound Marcus topped Arlington Lamar 27-7 at Cravens Field in Arlington.
It was practically a one-man game as Harvey Giddens carried the ball 30 times for Marcus, racking up 203 yards. Giddens scored on a 70-yard run on the 2nd play of the game. The most yards by any other Marcus player was 36 combined rushing and receiving for Deion Sanders Jr.
Cole Erwin led the Marauders passing with 113 yards on 14 of 17 attempts. Erwin spread the ball around with 7 different players making receptions.
Lamar was forced to pass, with quarterback Connor Berry completing 14 of 28 for 108 yards. Cameron Smith led Lamar’s ground attack with 43 yards on 6 carries.
Marcus has an open week before beginning district play on Sept 23 at Plano East.
