The Dallas Mavericks ended the 2012 preseason with a 99-82 win over the Charlotte Bobcats Friday night at the American Airlines Center.  The Mavericks never trailed against the Bobcats on Friday and the game was never tied at any point (other than 0-0). It was the second time in the last three games that Dallas recorded a victory without trailing at any point (Dallas never trailed vs. New Orleans on 10/22/12 but the game was tied 2-2). The Bobcats missed 20 of their first 22 shots from the field and the Mavericks began the game on a 21-6 run.

Mavericks guard O.J. Mayo finished one assist shy of a triple-double with 13 points, a preseason-high 10 rebounds, a preseason-high nine assists, two steals and one block in 29 minutes.

Forward Shawn Marion finished with a game-high 24 points (10-15 FGs, 4-4 FTs) to go along with a preseason-high-tying 12 rebounds and a preseason-best three blocks on the night. He recorded his second double-double of the preseason (12 points and 11 rebounds in the Mavericks’ first preseason game at Alba Berlin 10/6/12). It marked his second straight game with 12 boards (12 vs. New Orleans 10/22/12). Marion did not travel with the team for the game against the Thunder on 10/24/12.

Eddy Curry, who was waived by San Antonio on 10/23 and awarded to Dallas on a waiver claim on 10/25, started at center for the Mavericks on Friday and had 11 points to go along with seven boards and three blocks in 26 minutes.

Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki (right knee surgery), Mavericks center Chris Kaman (strained right calf), Mavericks big man Brandan Wright (sprained left ankle), Mavericks forward Elton Brand (rest) and Mavericks guard Delonte West (suspension) were all unavailable for Dallas on Friday.

The Mavericks open the 2012-13 regular season at the L.A. Lakers on Oct. 30 at 9:30 p.m. CT
