Mavericks end regular season with win over Spurs

The Dallas Mavericks ended the regular season with a 96-89 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.  Dallas, who had already clinched the Southwest Division, wrapped up the No. 2 spot in the West with a 55-27 record.  The Mavericks and Spurs will meet again in the first round of the NBA playoffs in what the Mavericks hope will be a repeat of last year’s first round matchup which Dallas won in 5 games.

Caron Butler led the Mavericks in scoring with 20 points, followed by Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd.

Dallas has won 5 in a row and 8 of 10 to finish the regular season.  The 55 wins are the 4th highest in team history.
