The Dallas Mavericks gave up a 15-point lead in the second half to lose to the Charlotte Bobcats 101-97 in overtime.  The loss ended the Mavericks’ string of 16 straight victories over the Bobcats.

O.J. Mayo led the Mavericks in scoring with 22 points.  Vince Carter added 19, Darren Collison scored 14, and Elton Brand added 10 for Dallas.

Charlotte outrebounded Dallas 53-43, especially offensively, where the margin was 21-8.  “There were mistakes made and poor decisions at the end, but it was the physical pounding that they put on us in the second half that won the game. They got extra possessions on the boards and they got by us off the dribble. We missed some good shots and made some poor decisions. This team has a lot to learn about winning. This is a very painful lesson,” said Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle.

Kemba Walker led Charlotte with 26 points, 8 steals, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds.

Dallas returns home to face Minnesota on Wednesday at the American Airlines Center.
